In US- In view of the precious part friends play in our life it was considered perfectly appropriate to have a day devoted to buddies and friendly relationships. In 1935, the U.S Congress announced the first Sunday of August as the National Friendship Day honouring the bond of love and affection that friends share. Since then, celebration of Nationwide Friendship Day became a yearly event. The noble idea of praising and celebrating the wonderful relation of friendship found acceptance with the people all over the US and soon Friendship Day became a greatly popular occasion.

Following the reputation and success of Friendship Day in US, many other countries implemented the custom of devoting a day to buddies. Today, the Friendship Day is widely celebrated and has become a well-known event in several countries across the globe including the Asian and African countries.

In 1997, the United Nations named the cartoon character Winnie- the pooh as the World Ambassador of Friendship. 

Friendship Day History in Bible- the Bible, the main textual content of the European culture and Christianity, reveals upon friendly relationship as the rapport that forms the basis of genuine care and affection that individuals believe in and implement in their lives.
